University of Chicago - Eckhardt Research Lab Fit-outs

DWA provided structural design for a series of lab fit-outs at Eckhardt Research Center, including Dr. Tian Zhong’s state-of-the-art laser laboratory.

Structural scope included: design of new aluminum platforms for electromagnetic-sensitive equipment; custom steel pedestals designed to support a raised floor system; new mezzanine floor with storage space and new integrated stair.  Existing structural assessment was provided for all build-outs, and reinforcing design was additionally provided as required.
